Anxiety & Depression

Life can feel exhausting when you’re constantly holding everything together on the outside while silently struggling on the inside. High functioning anxiety and depression often go unnoticed because, to everyone else, it may look like you’re coping well. You still go to work, care for others, meet deadlines, and keep showing up — but underneath the surface you may feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, disconnected, or stuck in a constant state of pressure and worry.

Many professional women experience this quietly and alone. You may appear calm and capable externally, while internally battling overthinking, self-criticism, burnout, low mood, irritability, or a persistent feeling that you’re never “doing enough”. Sometimes there is a clear reason for these feelings, but often there isn’t — and that can feel confusing and frustrating in itself.

The important thing to remember is that you are not alone, and you do not have to keep carrying it all by yourself.

Therapy can provide a safe, supportive space to slow down, understand what’s really going on beneath the surface, and begin to break free from survival mode. Together we can explore the patterns, pressures, and nervous system responses that may be keeping you stuck, while developing healthier ways to cope, regulate emotions, and reconnect with yourself again.

Reaching out for support is often the hardest step, especially when you’re used to being the one who manages everything for everyone else. But asking for help is not weakness — it is strength, self-awareness, and self-respect.

Things can change. With the right support, it is possible to feel calmer, lighter, more emotionally balanced, and more like yourself again. Small steps forward really do create lasting change.

Don’t let high functioning anxiety or depression continue to steal your peace, energy, and joy from life.

How can I help you?

Working together we will:

  • Explore every area of your life impacted by your mental health.
  • Create small, achievable goals to start to regain control over your life.
  • Focus on behavioural activation to start building momentum.
  • Prioritise the pillars of health to include sleep, nutrition, movement, purpose and relaxation.
  • Identify current triggers or stressors and develop problem solving strategies.
  • Identify and challenge unhelpful beliefs and explore root cause if required.
  • Create awareness of thinking patterns and explore impact on emotion and behaviour.
  • Restore balance to the emotional regulation system.
  • Use EMDR and hypnotherapy, if desired, to really embed new ways of thinking with the subconscious.
  • Prioritise positive self-talk and self-image.
  • Build resilience with a recovery focus to prevent a future relapse.

“Happiness is not the absence of problems; it’s the ability to deal with them” – Steve Maraboli

What stage are you at?

Thinking about therapy but a little unsure

Dip your toe in the water with a revelation session with no commitment. This is a three hour, intense explorative journey with an introduction to the therapeutic tools that will get you started on your road to recovery from depression and anxiety. No further therapy or coaching may be required thereafter whilst others will benefit from sign posting to other services. For some it will lead to working with myself for a period of time.

Ready to jump right in and work together 1:1

Amazing! Lets do this! Sessions can be purchased in a bundle with two different options of duration. Deciding which duration is the important decision. I would really encourage you to think about just how much change it is that you are wanting to achieve during your time working together. As well as that you should ask yourself for how long has your depression and anxiety been an issue.

“Emma was amazing I had gone to her for some hypnotherapy related to my anxiety from childhood trauma and she was so good at fully explaining everything to me to help put my mind at ease. Having done meditating before I found it was easy enough to settle into the session and Emma was a great and encouraging guide throughout. I got so much out of my sessions with her. To a point where my social anxiety had gone. I still have some anxiety at times but I’m finding that I am processing it much quicker and it isn’t coming up as frequently as it would have before”.
